HOW TO GET TO THE VALLEY
In these simple steps you can reach our jungle paradise! If you wish for a convenient taxi service you can always ask our reception to order it for you in advance.

Step 1: From Cartagena you can take a flight to Santa Marta airport or take a shuttlebus or taxi. If you decides to take a shuttlebus, we recommend you to leave around 10am or 11am from Cartagena.
We recommend the shuttlebusses from Berlinastur and Marsol, since the price is economic, approx. 80 mil and takes you to Mamatoco in 4,5 – 5 hours depending on the traffic. The busses from Berlinastur depart here every 20 minutes and you can buy your ticket there as well:

Step 2: From final endstop of this shuttlebus you arrive at Mamatoco (It’s a big roundabout), from here you can take a local bus until 19pm. Or a taxi.
The Cootransoriente bus with the colors white, green and blue combined and direction Tayrona) passes by here every 20 minutes. Tell the driver that you are going to The Valley hostel – Trompito Alto, Malla Verde. The bus costs you 10 mil and drops you off at the entrance Trompito Alto.
Step 3: When the local bus drops you off, there are motortaxis that bring your for 12 mil in the daytime. And from 18:30 pm: 15 mil. From 10pm: 30 mil. From 11-12pm: 35 mil. And voila, in 5 min you are there!
(Optional) step 4: OR you can walk it, you can cross the river by going through it using the bridge. After you crossed the river you turn right. And follow the road for 20 minutes and there are some creeks you have to cross.
Step 1: Take a direct taxi from the airport. Depending on the hour it should cost 180 mil in daytime. For taxi drivers it is best if you tell them to go to Plaza Tayrona (on Google Maps: 73HC+84 Santa Marta, Magdalena) which is a new shopping centre that is close to our entrance. Then it’s 50 meter further until our neighborhood entrance Trompito Alto.
Step 2: From here you can see our Valley Hostel sign. When you arrive, from there there are motortaxis that can get you to our place in 5 minutes. (12 mil in the daytime). And from 18:30 pm: 15 mil. From 10pm: 30 mil. From 11-12pm: 35 mil. And voila, in 5 min you are there!
Step 1: (The Cootransoriente bus with the colors white, green and blue combined) leaves from the “Mercado Público” every 20 minutes until 19:00PM. Tell the driver that you are going to The Valley hostel – Trompito Alto, Malla Verde. The bus costs you 10 mil and drops you off at the entrance Trompito Alto.
Step 2: When the busses drop you of there are motortaxis that bring your for 12 mil. And from 18:30 pm: 15 mil. From 10pm: 30 mil. From 11-12pm: 35 mil. And voila, in 5 min you are there!
(Optional) step 3: OR you can walk it, you can cross the river by going through it using the bridge. And after you crossed the river you turn right. And follow the road for 20 minutes and there are some creeks you have to cross. At one point you will see another hostel with a wooden gate. That’s not us, we are located 5 minutes further on the road! So if you want to arrive with dry shoes it’s better to get a motortaxi for the first time, that will make your journey more pleasant.

if you come by car we advise you that you park your car at Plaza Tayrona (on GOOGLE MAPS: 73HC+84 Santa Marta, Magdalena) which is a small centro commercial or the green bamboo shop: (https://maps.app.goo.gl/78fy3dZxpdJ8Y8R7A).That is at the entrance of our neighborhood. It’s not possible to cross our river by car.
To park your car, the green bamboo shop or Plaza Tayrona charges 10k per night, and from there you can take a mototaxi that can bring you to our hostel in 5 minutes, in the daytime they charge 12 mil. And from 18:30 pm: 15 mil. From 10pm: 30 mil. From 11-12pm: 35 mil. And voila, in 5 min you are there!

Take a taxi (35/45mil) from the airport to Mamatoco (Mamatoco is a big roundabout). *Note that the local buses drive until 18:30pm, so if your arrival time is later we recommend to take the taxi!
From there take The Cootransoriente bus with the colors white, green and blue combined and direction Tayrona (8/10mil). Tell the bus driver to stop at ”Trompito Alto – Malla Verde”. There are also bigger fancy busses you can stop at Mamatoco but they charge more and you really have tell them where to stop.
